Having worked tirelessly for a number of months, Imo State House of Assembly has adjourned the House to 25th Oct, 2022 for their annual recess.
The House recess was announced by the Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, IMHA, Rt Hon Barr Kennedy Chidozie Ibeh during plenary on Thursday, the 11th of August 2022.
Before adjourning the House,
the Speaker expressed joy that there is a good working relationship and synergy between the legislative and the Executive arms of Government.
He commended the Governor of Imo State,His Excellency,Senator Hope Uzodimma for utilizing the scarce resources available to Imo State to deliver dividends of democracy to the people by way of embarking on projects that will stand the test of time.
The Speaker also commended the Clerk of the House, Chinelo Adaora Emeghara Esq and other staff of Imo State House of Assembly for being dedicated and committed to their duties.
Mr Speaker noted that the Deputy Speaker, the principal officers of the House, and indeed all the Honourable members of the House had displayed high sense of legislative dexterity and responsibility during the session.
During motion on adjournment, Honourable members, such as the Deputy Speaker of the House and member representing Nwangele State Constituency, Rt. Hon Amara Iwuanyanwu, Hon Eddy Obinna, member representing Aboh Mbaise State Constituency, the Majority Leader and member representing Owerri West State Constituency, Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi, Hon Dominic Ezerioha, member representing Oru West State Constituency and Hon Ngozi Obiefule,member representing Isu State Constituency,all described the Speaker as exceptional and referred to him as a driver with a licence.
The members who spoke individually, said that the Speaker Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh, had changed the narratives in IMHA by bringing on board,core legislative experience from which all the House members have benefitted.
The Speaker wished everyone well and then adjourned to 25th of October,2022 after the motion for adjournment was carried and adopted.
